Ingredients
- 1 cup boiling water
- ¾ cup shortening
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 pkg dry yeast
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 2 beaten eggs
- 6 cups of plain flour - 2 cups at a time
Preparation:
- Flour for kneading
- 1 stick of melted butter
Instructions
- Mix together boiling water, shortening, sugar, and salt. Set aside to let cool (at least 15 minutes).
- In a separate bowl, mix together dry yeast and lukewarm water. Add to above mixture once it has cooled.
- Then add, beaten eggs and flour. Add in the flour 2 cups at a time.
- Place in fridge overnight or at least 6 hours.
- Remove from fridge, knead with flour to get the dough from being sticky.
- Roll out to about ½” to ¾ inch thick then using a biscuit cutter cut out the dough. Continue kneading and cutting til all the dough is gone.
- Dip in butter and fold into pan. Pour the rest of butter over top of all rolls, let sit for 2-3 hours til risen.
- Bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until you have that golden brown color.
